The Kentucky Atoll story began with a simple need for connection. For years, our meetup group has served as a gathering place for families with adopted Marshallese children. At every meeting, the same vital questions arose: How do we best support our children? Hodo we authentically honor Marshallese culture? Where can we find a community that truly understands our unique journey?
Inspired by these conversations and our friends at Camp Iakwe, we realized that these families needed more than just occasional meetups—they needed a dedicated space for immersive education and long-term resources. Following the success of our 2024 event, we made a commitment to turn this vision into an annual tradition.
Today, Kentucky Atoll aspires to be more than just a meet up; it is a bridge between cultures & families. We provide an experience through Marshallese-focused education, activities, and entertainment led by Marshallese leaders and youth groups.
